Inclement weather shooting with the Pentax K5 DSLR

Soon to Emerge by Mike Kaye

April showers bring May flowers – As the spring brings warmer temperature it also brings rain, but shooting nature and macro doesn’t need to be regulated by sunny days only. The Pentax K5 is a fully weather sealed DSLR in a rugged magnesium alloy shell. Combined with Pentax DA or WR lenses (Weather Resistant), it can be a powerful photographic tool in the wet weather.

While on a walk during a damp and rainy spring afternoon a great companion lens for the K5 is Pentax’s standard 18-55mm WR lens. This wide angle standard is extremely sharp and works great for standard wide-angle nature and landscape photography. This lens is sold with the Pentax K5 as a kit package or sold separately.

Another great companion would be the DA 100mm f/2.8 MACRO. This prime lens is one of the sharpest macros made and offers tough all weather construction. A true 1:1 ratio macro lens means you can expect great results for detailed close-ups. Also with its fast f/2.8 aperture it functions as a terrific short telephoto portrait lens.
